366 times in the Bible it says: “Fear not!" It is one of the most repeated commands in the Bible. In fact, Lloyd Ogilvie in Facing the Future without Fear said there are 366 “Fear not’s” in the Bible, one for every day of the year, including Leap Year! God doesn’t want us to go a single day without hearing his word of comfort, “Fear not!”…Yet & sadly, the no.1 ‘Fear’ is Public Speaking or standing up in front on the pulpit! (See my own testimony!)

 

453 times in the Bible it says: "It came to pass…" It does not say: "It came to stay"  So unless your sermon is well developed, inspiringly crafted, and charismatically delivered with PASSION & POWER, it will PASS & not come to STAY in the Hearts, Minds and Lives of your people!

Goes into the Ear, Gets out into their Lives & Stays in their Heart!

• We need to live up to the songs we sing: I have the life of God in me...His Nature, His Ability....
• God is a God of order, not chaos-so take time to lay out your message orderly (in a digestible format)
• Be Enthusiastic when God has called you to speak!   
• Enthusiasm-Gr "God in dwells" If God wants you to do it- you will enjoy it!

Why is Preparation important!

Preaching can be compared to child birth

Have you ever seen Babies born over night? First the Mother has to conceive in her womb (which is the Fetus – a form of life in it’s early and incomplete stage). This fetus must be cared for until it becomes a fully grown baby. It must be fed with nutritional foods to nurture. Naturally It takes 9 months for the process to complete. A Baby who has to leave his mother’s womb too early will not leave a pleasant picture in the parents’ memory.

A sermon before it could be called good and effective should go through a similar process.

I. First you conceive a truth in your heart that the Holy Spirit illuminates to you through God’s word.

II. Then you nurture it and help it to grow – which takes time.

III. You can’t deliver a solid, convincing message until the sermon is complete and ready.
