The approach used would be more of a SEE & REMEMBER, along with DO & UNDERSTAND, using audio-visuals, video clippings/movies, exercises & role-plays where required.

A few Life Lessons we can learn from THE SHEPHERD!

(As described by Peter in 1 Peter 5:2)

As we take up the Task of a Shepherd, we need to be reminded of the following!

• 1.1 The Job Description – “Shepherd the flock…which is among you,”Shepherds do what? – They lead, protect, & they feed sheep.

• 1.2The Shepherd’s Limits – “flock of God”
  It’s Gods flock! The under-shepherd can never forget that.
• 1.3 The Shepherd’s Motive – “willingly”
  Not because he has a job to do.
• 1.4 The Shepherd’s Enthusiasm – “eagerly”
  The word used here is extremely strong & expresses enthusiasm & devoted zeal. Not for the pay; prestige; pomp; power; or promotion.
• 1.5 The Shepherds Example – “nor as being lords over those entrusted to  you, but being examples to the flock;” Sheep must be led not driven! He’s saying, “Leaders rather than  to demand respect from those under your authority, Win their  respect by love & example.”  
• 1.6 The shepherds Shepherd – “when the Chief(Master)Shepherd Appears. Pastors/Elders, we need to simply follow in His footsteps Ps.85:13 “Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.” “The Lord is my Shepherd” (personal relationship with Him); "I am the Good Shepherd”(the Goodness of God); And here, He is the “Chief Shepherd”(the Sovereignty of God).
• 1.7 The Shepherds Reward – “you will receive the crown of glory that  does not fade away.
  ”He will indeed reward their diligent care of his people with an  unfading, imperishable crown.
